The search for my inner goddess...and my abs...

Post by Pythia on Wed Nov 04, 2009 11:13 pm

Time to wave boo-bye to the chocolates and cheese and everything vaguelly nice... *watches as the mars bars huddle in a corner pleading with their caramel centres..SLAP* Ok, back with reality! Time to be healthy, just as soon as i come down off my sugar high

Haven't really got an excuse as to why i've become lazy *oh there it is* but i am currently seeing a physio for what was thought to be my knees but turned out to be my knees, my hips and my ankles apparently.
So far im still walking under my own power, but now doing torturous exercises to support and correct everything from the waist down... *i foresee.....pain, hobbling and me crawling*

The plan of action is:

a) Walk LOTS! I have a pedometer and i'm not afraid to use it!

b) Gardening (apparently 20minutes of gardening burns off 115calories) woot!

c) get out my yoga dvd....and my pilates dvd....and every exercise dvd i may even own *foresees many dust bunnies and unintentional house clearing but hey it burns calories!*

d) switch most snacks for healthy options

I will be posting what i have consumed during the day and what exercise i have done and for how long.

My current weight is.. *drumroll please*........152lbs (68.94kg) Im aiming to be between 119lbs-126lbs (53.97kg-57.15kg) which means i need to lose at least 26lbs (11.79kg).

Bring on the challenge!!! *and the carrot sticks & rabbit droppings...blleeugghhh*
share in my misery all who dare

Here goes, gods help me...

Morning: 1 pear and a cup of rooibos tea (cannot eat too early in the morning, just one of my many nuinances)

Went shopping for 4 hours...lots of walking and carrying shopping.

Afternoon: turkey, cheese & lettuce with low-fat mayo on wholemeal bread + one cup of rooibos

Cleaned out refrigerator, cutlery drawer and essentially anything that loopked vaguelly dirty in kitchen. took me about an hour so hopefully plenty of calories burnt.

Evening: 1 glass of clementine juice
Chinese style steaks + Tilda pilau rice with butternut squash + chopped string beans, red pepper, mushrooms and asparagus in vegetable oxo stock.

1 chocolate chip muffin (gotta get rid of the last one..
)

Evening Snack: 1 pomegranate + 1 cup nettle tea

Not bad in my opinion. Now im off to do some studying for my online courses.

Morning : 1 cup rooibos tea + toast and a banana

Afternoon : 1 glass clementine juice +
turkey, cheese & lettuce with low-fat mayo on wholemeal bread

Snack at work : 1 pear, vanilla + black cherry muller light yoghurt + Go Ahead Orange & Sultana Crispy Slices

Evening : Half of a 10inch stonebake pizza with tomato and cheese, ham, tuna, peppers + sweetcorn.
2 small chocolates out of a Celebrations tin. 1 glass clementine juice.

Drank about 1 bottle of water while at work, not a large bottle unfortuantely.

Haven't done much of anything energetic today tbh. Walked the 20minutes it took to get to work. Stood for 1hr 30mins overall during shift at work. Had to sit the rest of the shift as my hips and knees are reallly hurting today.
Could have been the bending and kneeling while cleaning out the fridge yesterday.
Between my physio exercises and the cold i feeling extremley decrepid. LOL
It can only get better.

Morning: 1 bowl of Kelloggs Natures Pleasure-apple and blackcurrant muesli + 1 cup of nettle tea

Went for walk at 9:30 sharp (same time as Tia, we are hoping to go walking at same time different place for at least 30mins) I didn't get back home umtil 10:43 though as i perused the shops in town in search of some decent scales. No luck there.
ah well on the bright side i walked 1.9 miles and burned off 163.1 cals according to my pedometer so not a wasted walk at all.

Afternoon: Egg and sausage sandwich + 1 cup of rooibos tea

Work snack:
Go Ahead Orange & Sultana Crispy Slices, 1 banana + 1 Muller Light Vanilla with Orange yoghurt

Evening: Garlic Chicken Kiev with chips and sweetcorn + 1 glass of
ASDA Grape, Apple & Cherry Juice.

Evening Snack:
1 cup of green tea with cranberry +1 pomegranate.

I should point out that i dont have any involvement with my evening meal on Sunday, monday, tuesday or friday as my partner cooks those evenings. Im trying to convince him to cook healthier but its an uphill battle. My only action plan is that when it is my turn to buy the shopping i get it without him and refuse to put crap in the trolley. On the whole though, his cooking is damn good and he is at last beginning to understand i dont eat the same size portions as him. Its a start.

Feeling a bit fluey today, its really cold at the moment.
Walked to work as usual, also stood for short half hour bursts, though my hips are not thanking me now.

Morning: Asda's Good For You Muesli with sultanas and dried apricot + 1 glass of ASDA Grape, Apple & Cherry Juice.

going for a walk now...kk, walk done and pedometer says i've burned off 120.1 cals. Nice one, a morning walk really helps. Thats from walking 1.4miles.
Just going to go check my courses to see whats up to do next.
Afternoon: Turkey, cheese + lettuce with low-fat mayo on Weightwatchers malted bread + 1 cup of nettle tea
Work Snack:

Go Ahead Orange & Sultana Crispy Slices, 1 banana + 1 packet cheese + onion Walkers Light

Drank a small bottle of water during shift as well. Maybe i'll be more alert when i get up tomorrow...stranger things have happened.

Evening: My partner put together a pasta dish containing chicken strips, kidney beans, orange pepper, mushrooms, sweetcorn with a tomato pasta sauce. Odd as it might sound to just mix it all together at the end (which he did) it actually tasted really nice and he didn't overfill my plate. yum

Also shared some canned rice pudding with him...ok so i had a little treat, but i have been afairly good girl... (hides)...ok so not as good as i meant to be but if i'm honest i don't automatically think about what i'm eating before i eat it. Its going to take a while to sink in i think.

1 cup nettle tea + 1 cup white tea with citrus.

Wednesday-11th-November

Post by Pythia on Thu Nov 12, 2009 3:58 pm

Ok, so i slept in and am feeling under the weather big style, so did not eat very much today at all.
On the bright side i went for a walk into town ot pick up my dad's prescription and to buy a couple of odds and ends from the shop. Burned off 191.3cals, and walked 2.2 miles....ready to drop but oh well.

Evening: Chicken on pilau rice with asparagus tips, mushrooms, carrot and leek with tomato sauce.

2 small slcies of cake -both made to basic victoria spnge recipe, but instead of slapping them together with cream and jam i sprinkled blackberries over the top of one and pineapple chunks over the other before baking.
I prefer the pineapple.
Hopefully tomorrow qill be much better

Saturday-14th

Post by Pythia on Sun Nov 15, 2009 9:18 pm

Ok, i have not been keeping up to date i know. I'm a bit under the weather at the moment. Temperature is all over the place and i feel dizzy. It seems the winter cold has found its way to me. Joy of joys.
I'll try and remember as much as possible, but im afraid to say my brain is so much mucho-rubbisho...

Saturday:

Breakfast:
Asda GFY Muesli

Afternoon:
Cheese, beetroot and lettuce sandwich

Afternoon snack: pear,
Go Ahead Apple & Sultana Crispy Slices

Evening: Chicken covered with cheese and bacon strips + oven chips + sweetcorn. Bacon + cheese tear & share (shared with partner) + 1 glass of clementine juice

I had to cook my candlelight and manually light the gas cooker as there was a mass blackout last night just as i was returning home. Made for a very cool hour with no tv or stereo, net or otherwise. It was actually really relaxing.

Morning: Egg and lancashire sausage on cheese covered bap (i know but i feeling unwell...creature comforts)
1 cup of tea

Afternoon: pear, Go-Ahead Apple and Sultana slices + 1 small slice of pineapple sponge.

Evening: steak with mashed potato and carrots + peas. 1 glass of clementine juice

I walked to work as normal as i have done the past 2 days also. Feel exhausted though i've done hardly anything. More than likely the cold working its way through my body.
I started taking echinacea tablets this morning as my immune system could do with the boost. I've got the capsule form which i can split and use as a tea. Hopefully i'll kick the cold tot he curb before i go to visit Tia.
i'm going to go meditate for a while and see if centering myself and looking to find the cold in my body will aid my defences. It cant hurt to put my mind to the job.
